Relax in the Wainscott Parlour – communal area
In the main house is the stunning traditional Wainscott Parlour, a quiet nook in which you can relax, read and soak up the atmosphere of being in the traditional surroundings of this Grade II listed building.
With wood panelling dating back centuries, sink into the comfy sofas and chairs to dream, write and relax. There is a historic fireplace and we light the open fire in the cooler months, keeping us cosy and warm.
Bring your books and swap them in our book exchange. Enjoy a quiet jigsaw in the corner, or bring your knitting or crafting materials.
Main lounge – communal area
Upon entering the Main House though large wooden doors, you come into a small lobby area (low headroom!) and then through into the main lounge area. This is one of the original parts of the Grade II listed building, with huge fireplace with an open fire in the cooler months, wood beams on the walls and ceiling and windows opening onto the garden. It is a lovely area to sit in front of the fire, enjoy the views through the windows into the garden with a cup of herbal tea.
Here you will find hot water and herbal teas, filtered water and fresh fruit. You can bring your fresh juice into this area on a meal time. This is also where you will find our reception team, ready to help.

Dining room – communal area
Our communal dining room is the place to enjoy our delicious plant-based meals with your friends, old and new. With views out through large Victorian windows onto the garden, this rooms is light and bright.
When the weather is warm you can walk out through the door and sit at one of the outdoor tables to enjoy your meal in the fresh country air.
You will find the weekly food and juice menus, and the meal choice form here (this is where you let us know if you are eating or juicing).
Meal times are a good opportunity to meet and get to know the other like-minded people who are also here on retreat, swapping stories with people from all over Europe and the world.
